Enrollment frequently asked questions

We've compiled answers to the most common questions about enrolling your child at Nena's Family Childcare. Our goal is to make the process as clear and straightforward as possible, ensuring a smooth transition for both you and your child.

What forms and documents are required for enrollment?

To ensure your child's safety and well-being, we require the following essential forms and documents: emergency contact forms, comprehensive health forms, up-to-date vaccination records, consent forms for various activities, and any necessary medication authorization forms. Please have these ready before enrollment.

What is the typical enrollment and transition process for children?

We pride ourselves on making the transition easy and comfortable for every child. Before full enrollment, we arrange several meetings with both parents and the child. Our program uniquely offers a free week of service, (orientation week), during which your child initially attends for a few hours. By the last two or three days of this week, they will stay all day. This gradual adjustment helps children acclimate to our environment and bond with other children and caregivers at Nena's Family Childcare.

What are your policies on holidays and vacations?

Nena's Family Childcare observes standard holidays. Specific dates for closures will be provided in your enrollment packet and contract. For vacations, we request advance notice. Please refer to your contract for detailed information regarding vacation policies and any applicable fees.

What is your time off policy for staff and children?

Our priority is consistent care. Information regarding staff time off and planned closures will be communicated well in advance. For child absences due to illness or family time off, please notify us as soon as possible. Our contract outlines policies regarding tuition during absences.

When is Nena's Family Childcare closed?

Nena's Family Childcare operates throughout the year with scheduled closures for major holidays and professional development days. A comprehensive list of these dates will be provided upon enrollment and can be found in your parent handbook and contract. We strive to give ample notice for any unforeseen closures.

Will there be a contract to sign?

Yes, a detailed enrollment contract will be provided for your review and signature. This contract outlines our policies, tuition, hours of operation, and mutual agreements to ensure clear understanding and a positive partnership between Nena's Family Childcare and your family. We encourage you to read it thoroughly and ask any questions you may have.
